In a medium-sized videoconferencing room, there is room for about 6-12 people. In terms of connections (preferably wired) and equipment, the same applies here as for huddle rooms or small video conferencing rooms. Only where in a small room you are close to the equipment and close together, in this meeting room the distances are greater and you have to deal with a certain arrangement of the seats.
Here you have to take into account that the cables have to run from a display on the wall to the table. When adding on a room, in most locations there is no conduit for cables placed in the floor. And so a slightly more complex approach is required. It is not always desirable to place cables in a floor duct on the ground or to cut a recess in the floor for this purpose. If running cables through the room is not an issue, you can use the most stable wired connection. But often loose cables across the floor are not desirable. After all, you can trip over them and take all the expensive equipment with your fall.
Medium collaboration room often at companies
Nowadays, we see collaboration rooms of this size most commonly found in companies. The rooms often have a maximum depth of 7 meters and are furnished with a long conference table, where the screen is located at one end of the table. In a medium-sized room, we recommend a 65" screen, which can also be interactive. With an interactive screen, you can provide your meetings with a new dynamic and a more playful character. The distance between the display and the nearest participant in the meeting is often 1 to 1.5 meters from the screen. This makes a camera with a wide viewing angle as used in the small room unnecessary.
Medium-sized video conferencing space requirements
You will need a 65 - 75 inch monitor or projector, a computer or laptop, a video calling program like Zoom or Microsoft Teams, a 4K meeting camera with microphone and speakers or a soundbar.
PTZ camera video camera
A good camera, equipped with PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) features is ideally suited for these medium-sized rooms. The camera automatically adjusts the lens to capture meeting participants in rooms of all sizes and shapes. Take advantage of hands-free convenience or operate the camera manually. Your participants are always in the picture and displayed optimally on the screen. The cameras can record and stream in 4K and are easy to connect using the plug and play principle.
Sound in the video collaboration room
Good audio is essential in video conferencing. After all, when you can't see each other, you can always talk. To be able to hear and understand the participants in the video conference properly, the microphone is placed on the table. If the room or the table is larger, a second microphone can be placed and purchased additionally. A speaker (soundbar) near the screen completes the room and provides the participants with sufficient incoming sound. This ensures that the other video conference participants can also be heard clearly. Make the room user-friendly by adding a control panel so that one user can control the entire video call.
